Superb golf

JUST AWARDED 16/20 IN THE PEUGEOT EUROPEAN GOLF GUIDE, THE GOLF COURSE OF ALBI LASBORDES HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST-KEPT SECRETS IN THE WORLD OF GOLF.

SOCIETIES ARE ESPECIALLY WELCOME, AND LADY GOLFERS MAY PARTICULARLY ENJOY THE SECURITY AND COMFORT OF LODGINGS SO CLOSE TO THE COURSE.

One of the finest golf courses in the Midi-Pyrenees region and in the "top twenty" in the whole of France, Albi Lasbordes offers a stiff challenge off the medal tees as you thread your way around the numerous lakes towards fast, receptive and beautifully manicured greens.

Or take it easy off the forward tees and admire the scenery and wildlife. You can choose which tee to use, to suit your mood - or your ambitions! Whatever kind of golfer you are, Lasbordes welcomes you.

Even non-golfers enjoy the walk around the parklands of Chateau Lasbordes where eagles, hoopoes and woodpeckers abound. Just alongside the thirteenth hole live the Tarn's famous hundred-pound catfish.

THE WONDERFUL CLIMATE means that winter greens and tees are unheard-of and shirt-sleeve golf in the depths of winter is not unusual here. Caddy-cars are freely available and not a bad idea in the noon-day heat - if you can resist lunch on the Chateau's terrace. Friendly, English-speaking staff offer a warm welcome to La Maison Carree's guests.

In the unlikely event that you tire of golf at Lasbordes (www.golfalbi.com), there are several other courses nearby and we can arrange your tee times there. Naturally, we supply secure club storage and drying area for winter wear in the laundry (though we hope you won't need it!)
